Preventing Substance Abuse Among Area Youth

In collaboration with Healthy Waldo County...
Broadreach works with community partners to implement strategies to reduce underage drinking and teen use of marijuana, prescription drugs and other substances. We offer the Student Intervention and Reintegration Program for youth between the ages of 13 and 18. In a free, 12 hour program youth develop an awareness about how alcohol and drug use can affect their achievement of their goals.

Reducing and Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect

Broadreach works closely with schools, law enforcement, health care providers and community members to improve conditions of safety for children and teens.
We work closely with our early childhood education programs to create stronger partnerships with parents, working to build “Protective Factors” for families, and improving conditions for families facing challenges.

Improving Family Stability and Function

Broadreach prevention staff offer the monthly Kids First program for parents who are divorcing/separating or in court to establish “custody” (rights and responsibilities) for their child(ren).

We offer to parents of children ages 5 to 12 an online parenting program called Active Parenting Now. The course is free and provides a valuable learning experience for parents who may find it hard to attend a “live” parent education class.
