Early Childhood Services
Each year , Broadreach prepares over 600 young children for a lifetime of learning success with high-quality education, early intervention and childcare programs. Broadreach early childhood classrooms are nationally accredited and taught by state-certified early childhood teachers. Our unique literacy-enriched curriculum has been recognized as a national model of excellence.
Youth Services
Broadreach assists youth in gaining positive life skills through focused service learning and enrichment programs, and meaningful community and school-based activities. Last year, 423 youth, aged 11-17 years participated in the agency’s Youthlinks programs in Waldo, Knox and Lincoln Counties.
Behavioral Health Services
Broadreach coordinates essential services for children and teens with developmental and mental health diagnoses, and supports families in accessing supports and advocating for their children. Broadreach is licensed as a mental health agency by the State of Maine and provides Case Management and Home and Community Support Services to over 285 children, birth- age twenty, and their families.
Family and Adult Literacy Programs
Broadreach provides several programs to assist adults and children in developing crucial literacy competencies. Last year, through Literacy Volunteers of Waldo County, and two family-literacy initiatives Broadreach assisted 55 adults and children to achieve their identified learning and literacy goals.
Prevention Services
Broadreach supports the healthy development of children, families and communities with an array of family and community-strengthening programs. Broadreach Prevention Services focus on parent education, positive youth development and raising community awareness around preventing child abuse and neglect and substance abuse. Last year over 600 community members participated in programs sponsored by the agency’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Councils in Knox and Waldo County.
