Who We Are

Broadreach Family & Community Services (formerly known as Waldo County Preschool & Family Services) is a private, nonprofit agency. Our programs and services have been making a positive difference in the lives of children and families since 1983.

Our Mission

We help children and families to develop the skills they need to lead healthy and productive lives. We share our knowledge and experience with child- and family- serving organizations across the state and nation.

Our Philosophy

We believe that all children and families have basic rights, including: the right to early intervention and an appropriate education through the least restrictive means; the right to nutritional food, medical care, and safe and warm housing; and the right to love and be loved and to receive a fair chance at succeeding in life. We strive to uphold these rights for children and families. They deserve nothing less.

Core Values

people - Our employees are our most valuable resource. Our ability to help children and families depends on the contribution of staff members who are dedicated to the mission and goals of Broadreach. The success of our agency is a testament to the commitment, creativity, conviction and talents of the individuals who work here.

teamwork and collaboration - We are committed to building strong collaborations within our agency and throughout our community to support positive outcomes for children and families. We operate in partnership with staff, families, board members, community members, and the public and private agencies serving the children and families of our community.

respect - We treat each individual served with respect and understanding. Within the agency, we show respect and concern for all staff members, and encourage a work atmosphere of friendly openness and mutual support.

integrity - Our reputation reflects the highest level of integrity because it is built on trust, dependability, and professional ethics. In order to sustain and promote those attributes, we seek partners who share our same standards for integrity.

high quality - We are dedicated to developing and maintaining program excellence. We are innovative, resourceful and creative. We provide the highest quality of services and continually seek feedback from staff, clients and partners to improve our practices.

diversity -We are enriched by inclusion, cooperation and partnerships across race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, and abilities. We value diversity of opinion, backgrounds and experience.

leadership - We are committed to taking a leadership role in ensuring that Maine’s children, families and communities are healthy and strong. We uphold strong leadership at all levels of our organization. Broadreach is proud to be recognized by our public and private partners as a leader in collaboration, innovation and child and family services programming.
